As a jewellery assistant, you could be anywhere in the jewellery industry. This generalist role is ideal as a first job or graduate-entry position. It covers any number of tasks and departments, from office and admin to bench work and cleaning up castings to customer service.

This is a brilliant starting point to a career in the jewellery industry – you really do learn your craft from the ground up.

While flexibility and a willingness to learn is key, you also need basic bench skills, a general knowledge of jewellery manufacture and processes, IT skills and the ability to perform basic admin tasks. You are most likely to get on-the-job training.
